Newbie! Wanted to show off my new *to me anyway* Box

Thanx and heres a quick list
1. Led shot
2. Static whenever you adjust any sound related knob *Potentiometer may neede cleaning replacing* did I spell that right..lol
3. Loudness button not working. Engages fine but no change in sound.
4. Distortion in sound...Plays pretty good but somethings not quite there
5. Power Loss..Low end bass and overall BOOM not there.

1) Could be a loose wire or broken solder joint

2) You will need to open the box to get access to the controls in order to spray them with DeOxit or some sort of contact cleaner. There are tiny holes just big enough for the spray straw to fit it. Do that for all buttons and knob controls. Do not flood the controls with cleaner though. A quick shot of cleaner then work the switch a few times. Repeat as needed.

4) See #2 for possible fix

5) If you are talking about AC power, check the power board inside the box. I know from experience that the boards break loose sometimes and might pull a wire loose. If you are talking about music or sound power, go with #2 and see what happens.

Welcome to the site and Congrats.
That was my first box as well.
I have re obtained one a few years back and it was a mess,
what more can you expect for a bill tho?
I tore mine apart and tottaly restored it.
One suggestion is if there is a voltage selector on the box make sure it is in the right position.
That can cause a variety of problems such as the ones you are describing.
Did you try the box on batteries?

Sorry it took so long..work, kids, breathing...you know..lol. I had my RISING serviced but it doesnt BOOM like a BOOMBOX should. I was thinking about changing the speakers. What do you suggest I do.

Some particulars:
Everything works but the volume has to hit 1/2 way or better to produce medium loudness.
Bass is shoddy at best. Far cry from what I know the box can do.
Trebles ok.
Overall BUMP and volume subpar.
Point me in the right direction and off i go..

will definately keep u in mind.

Any update on this radio? Have you had a chance to get it into the shop for repairs?
