Newbie! Wanted to show off my new *to me anyway* Box

Just wanna hey to everybody 1st off. I just copped a Rising SRC-2015, more affectionately known as the Rising 20/20. Im 41 yrs old now and I originally owned one of these babies back in 1986. I bought it Down town Newark, NJ from one of the myriad of electronics stores with money i made at Newark Airport as a dishwasher..lol. wow. I would bang RUNDMC out of that thing while sitting in the lot of my job on lunch..great times.

I'm looking for someone to tune my BOX up. ANybody know someone qualified to do so.

that is one clean looking box man.
i am sure you will be able to find people who can help you to tune it up.
unfortunately i am not one of them :-)
that one you have there looks great .
what does it need to have done to it.
i mean if its just spraying the pots you would be able to do that one you self i am sure.
great box.
i wish i had one of those.

:hi: ...I have that box as well with the blue led upgrade. It has a well balanced sound with good low end thump. One of my favorite boxes. We have plenty of experts who can help you with a tune up. Just list what you are looking to improve or fix. Welcome to the best boombox site on the planet!!

Welcome aboard! There are quite a few of us "gearheads" on the site that could help you out. Tell us what's going on and we'll see what we can do.

And it's always great to find the childhood boomer...problem is with most of us, like when we were kids, we want them all. Adn I'd bet you will too! :-D

Thanx and heres a quick list
1. Led shot
2. Static whenever you adjust any sound related knob *Potentiometer may neede cleaning replacing* did I spell that right..lol
3. Loudness button not working. Engages fine but no change in sound.
4. Distortion in sound...Plays pretty good but somethings not quite there
5. Power Loss..Low end bass and overall BOOM not there.
these are the little things i've noticed so far. Found a guy nearby who says he can get her back on her feet with no prob. Went to Radio Shack anyway just case I get the urge to do it myself..*with u guys help of course..lol*

Ditto to what EVERYBODY out here already said. Welcome, and great looking box!

And I am definitely NOT a fixer-upper, so will have to pass on that, but I'm sure you'll find what you need out here.
