I have the bumpboxx too the graffiti version. My only gripe is the radio signal is weak to me. So I will definitely do that mod!
Hey mmc...I noticed you had yours charging while playing. Does your adapter get hot?

My wife has OFFICIALLY renamed the Bumpboxx.
In our house it is now referred to as the Drunkboxx. It's the perfect machine for drunken karaoke during the winter months :newyear: :beer2: :drunk:
My wife says she doesn't think she could handle my voice in stereo anyway...hahaha

Just for fun, I tried running my V5.0 box in mono to test the difference in sound quality.

The following results are dependant on the track you're listening to:

Stereo mode:

Wide sound stage, mids and highs have depth. Mids and particularly the highs have sparkle, vocals sound up front but other mids sound further back.

Mono mode:

Overall sound output is slightly louder?? Bass sounds the same as stereo on most tracks (bass is usually mono). Bass, mids and highs are all 'upfront'. Sound is narrow and shallow. Highs are slightly subdued.

All the above obviously goes out the window when you're listening from another room except for the highs. The 'sparkle' is lost in mono mode no matter how far away you listen from.

When I think about, although I regularly use the V5.0 outdoors, it's mainly an indoor box where stereo separation in truly appreciated.

Obviously, none of this really matters for outdoor mega blasting and that's what a Bumpboxx is truly for. :-)

James..... :-)
