Never Dull Wadded Compound. What is it? What can it do for you?

I'm sure there is knowledge of this here. But 1 person asked. So here ya go.

Here we have our test piece. 7980 bumber. Probably never cleaned in over 30 years.....

We will use this. On the part. Rip pieces off the wad and rub. When you see your wadding compound turning black. Move to another spot on the wad and continue. Based on the piece you took. And you don't need a lot. Rip another off and continue.

Okay. So here we have the same piece. This is just a quick rubbing. As I have just done this real time. Imagine with love. Also. The rubbing part is just as important after the compound. Your soft cloth will also go black. Be sure to move it to a clean spot as well..

Great gosh a'mighty! Vintage Man inspired me to have a try with Autosol, in lieu of not having any NEVR DULL handy. I thought I'd give this a try before ordering some NEVR DULL online and lo and behold the Autosol performed miracles on my C100 chrome too!

My C100, although fully functional, was never a cosmetically attractive example, but now, the Autosol magic has made her really shine! Thanks, Vintage Man!

If the cloth turns black when you've polished this off the job piece, then it has removed some of the silver nitrate that has a crucial rôle in giving the plastic its "chrome" finish, something to be aware of if you should decide to use it more than the once on the same job as it would be a shame to rub right through.

I might be tempted to try this on my j-1. This looks like a different brand of wadding of a product I already have. Mine is made by eagle one. I use it on the chrome tips on my cars exhaust and it works great. I would have thought it would be too harsh for chrome plated plastics

When you check walmart.com it shows the Eagle One Nevr-Dull for $5.xx and the #15 Nevr-Dull for $25.xx Descriptions say the same thing. So confused.

I was also thinking that it might be too harsh, but I have never tried it. I would hate to see tons of scratch swirls if it was too harsh. I only use soap/water/windex to clean my stuff and a lot of grime covered parts still didn't come clean, so maybe I need something more harsh.

I wouldn't worry about scratching the surface as the wadding is very soft. But It does contain chemicals in the wadding that I fear would strip the chrome coating off if used enough.
This is by no means an abrasive or a compound.

That's good to know. So would you suggest using a wax or cleaner after using the wadding to get the chemicals off the parts?
