I think a new plastic graphic for the top deck could probably cover up most of that damage and make it look like nothing's wrong from most angles...

When you get a chance, can you go inside the battery compartment... I'd like to know the manufacture date on the sticker... I'm guessing 1988.

July 1987... Wow, I totally expected that to be a year later than that. The date code on my 1st edition is
from August 1986 which means they revamped the box in less than a year of it's release.
