My restored and repainted Aiwa 660

I hate to admit this because I love the M70, but yes it does. The 660 has deeper bass and an overall richer sound. At normal listening volume (or less than half volume) the Aiwa is fantastic. The M70 has more high volume power and shines at higher volume but the Aiwa is amazing at normal listening levels.

Yeah that's kinda what I thought.
M70 for the basketball court.
Aiwa for the living room.
Have you heard Norm's TPR-955? I don't know for sure, but I think it's supposed to be higher-end than the 660.

Melly. That really did turn out nice. I think the blue behind the grill might've been redundant since you probably wouldn't be able to see the blue but, heck, you only get to do it once right?

@Reli: The 660 definitely sounds warmer and fuller than the 955, probably because the speaker are larger? Or maybe because the boombox is larger?

...after listening to both side by side for a few minutes it is very close. They have different sound characteristics...this will require more research. Expect a detailed writeup of these two middleweights. I think the results may surprise some who have overlooked the 660...it is definitely a must have boombox....stay tuned...

I agree Norm,I think the 660 sounds warmer than the TPR955. :superduper:
I'm sure the DSL circuit helps wit that.........
