The DISCO KING GHIDORA!!(c) is hatched....RUNNNNN!!!!!

stage 1:

Full cosmetic custom restoration, new LEXAN 1/8" plexi window, huge GRUNDIG bumper bars for protection, plus new top trim from Bredego....sweeeet!!

I had these massive bumper bars from a GRUNDIG blaster & wanted to use them for my next M90 to protect the face & add that rugged mean look that I love so much about good bumper bars.

I also wanted to bring out the styling accents that are almost hidden in the M90 design. I added the red to the woofers & tweeter crosshairs to add some depth & detail.

Theree is nothing like having a new top trim & lexan plate, fresh from the glass company around the corner. 10 bucks gets me 4 cut pieces that epoxy right in, perfectly.....

New hammered finish paint is dead on almost a perfect match to the original color. Even the shift is even between the unpainted control panel & the new finish....The hammered texture is perfect for blending & touchups too....

Below, you can see how the bumper bars save the entire front of the blaster from harm, in the event of a face forward fall. My glass table's reflection shows how the cassette door just clears the table-top, when fully open....

Thanx for the comments guys, even if mixed. I know it's not something most grail collectors would do but for me, it makes it my own unique M90 that no other can come close to for style, sound functionality, finish, etc. I really like the bumper bars just 'cause the angle mounting looks so mean & very different from the rest of the bumper class blasters, like the Rising & Grundig flavours....

How can I deny a polite request like that. ..I'll have to wrap up some projects to do another rodeo roundup of my RGB herd but alas most are gone. I've done 10 blasters so far & are in order of creation...

Really cool something different! I think it would of look little cooler and a little bit more factory if you put jvc rc550 guards on it instead imo.
