My new japanese GF-508SB ( GF9696 )

last Saturday I received this exotic Sharp from peppinhk.

After a lot work its near perfect

My fixes were:

Mains from european GF 9696 ( now it runs on 230V AC )
New Belts, new pulley on the capstan shaft, cleaning and aligning the tape head
Finding and fixing the interruption in the right audio signal path
Fixing and renewing both antennas
assembling a better looking handel
and finally the sticker from Fatdog :-)

I really like these-wanting a 9696 model someday soon!!
I love these because they are 3 way speakers! Pitch control to! :yes:

Very Nice!

I think I like that box better in dark color than in light color.... the dark tuner background is nice, too..

To me, one of the best looking boxes of all time - looks like it means business, but beautifully, elegantly crafted.

Great stuff :cool:

That is a really really good looking box. I just love them, and a great specimen at that. The downsides to these Sharp models is the bugger sliders that are like the JVC's -- the weak link. Also, I'd prefer a true line-in rather than the phono-ins. However, overall, it's one of my favorites, built like a rock and feels like it too. Two Thumbs UP! :thumbsup:
