What's the Yen - dollar exchange rate???

Thats awesome Mono, The 838 is one of the toughest looking boxes made and that case puts it over the top!!!
Nice hookup , ready to hit the street looking fresh. :cool:

The box has an "industrial" look to it - serious business, no joking around! :nonono: :cool:

Not to mention, it's heavy as hell - with or without batteries! :-O I opened it up to spray the switches and whatnot with Deoxit and I can see why... This box is fully packed with electronics and metal! :thumbsup: :cool:

As for the sound,... the highs can be a little bright depending on the music being played and how high the volume is, but other than that, the 838 has the best bass of any 6" woofer box I own! :yes: Overall, it's a great sounding box! :cool:

mono be careful taking that awesome jvc out in the cold in that old case it has.
the cold could make the leatherette brittle and it could crack.
i love radios with coats.

The case is in excellent like-new condition but I hear you loud and clear, Bill! :yes:

From here on out, the Victor is a house box... until it starts to get warm outside. :-D :breakdance:

That´s one of my favourite JVC´s. Green/Black is a great color scheme for a boombox. Nice detail with the green Reel2Reel! And it looks even better without the silver top. The strap and the case ... what can I say: it´s a steal! Nice work.

btw: For currency conversion the easiest way is to type "3220 yen in dollar" in google. This works for all currencies.

Wow. That's pretty hefty shipping... but with the price you paid for the actual box for, I still think that worked out to a really fair price for such a pristine example of that rare version of that box. Especially with that cover and all the original stuff. Very, very collector worthy. Congrats again for taking the plunge and staying afloat, so to speak... A risk that paid off quite well.

Since 2006, I've gotten used to paying high prices for EMS shipping... Getting a CD shipped from HMV Japan costs around $20. :yes:

The Victor is the 2nd heaviest box (overall) I've gotten from Tokyo, as I've paid (sometimes more than $50) less for the shipping charges on all of my other boxes of similar size. ;-) Getting my Toyota shipped cost me around $250 and I won that for ¥3610 ($40 at that time).

I'm still trying to figure out if I wanna add the shipping charge to the total price of what I paid for the boxes I got from Tokyo or just think of that as a completely separate thing altogether. :hmmm:

The hat and Adidas track jacket match my sneakers also, but look "off" in that picture...
The flash of the camera must've changed the color of my gear. :-/
