My new ¥3,220 piece of "junk"

I won it on January 14... It arrived yesterday. Before I say what it is, let me state that the Japanese are funny... In some/most circumstances, if a box is dirty or some/most/all of the functions of the box haven't been tested due to the seller's laziness, it's listed as "junk goods". Well, the box I won was slighty "dirty", and had a quirk or 2 that made it somewhat unreliable to those who aren't hip to such things, but it wasn't nothing that a little warm water, Q-tips, a washcloth and some Deoxit couldn't cure. In fact, the only "major" thing that's wrong with the box is that the right antenna is broken. That said, with no further ado, allow me to introduce you to my newest box:

^ The foam is dried out. It was pristine in appearance as if it never saw batteries... and then I touched it.

^ Overall, the box could use some compressed air treatment on the woofers and whatnot, but it's clean enough for my standards.

^ That's obviously just a blank display tape...

^ but the cassette deck itself does indeed work.

Even tho I hoped to get an 838 someday, I wasn't sweating it...

I mean, let me "keep it real"... I only bought the box because of the bag!

The fact that everything works and it's in near mint physical condition is a bonus!

Yeah, I wonder about these cases... it's becoming obvious to me that these cases/bags must've been in-store or mail order options in Japan. So far, I've seen 4 or 5 boxes with cases - including that M70 I posted a while back.

Wonder if some Americans and/or Europeans had those options with the JVC versions...
