Love your mods to the Sharp, Chronic. I've got my own 777 that I'm not really impressed with. Seeing what you've done, I'm thinking there's a way to mod it so I actually like the damn thing.

Thanx Kraftmatic for the kind words. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to post here or PM me. :-D

Here's a clip of the GF in action with the new VU lights. The video is shot with a very primitive point&click 10mP camera. The lighting & sound is much more vivid & lively than the video & the camerea will never convey the real experience. I'm geeked. I really like the progress so far & hope to finish the project soon.

:hmmm: Another idea I had was to replace the horns with flush mounted tweeteres & use the horns for strobe lights. You mount the strobe inside the horn lens & have the light emit throught he mouth of the horn.
I am pretty shure that the tweeter is not optimal for your new woofers.
Not talking about the loudness as you can adjust that.
I would look for one that has freq response that overlaps nicely with your woofers,
as I assume your replacement woofers dont cover mids as easily as originals and goes lower in bass.
Also newer tweeters handle more mids.
Not shure if you opened but I'm pretty shure its just a simple paper tweeter on a modified mounting,
similar to what I found in the jvc m70.
My experience/preference would be silk dome tweeters over paper and metal tweeters ;)

Heyya, =) Yeah, interesting you mentioned the tweeters. Here's a link ot my other thread covering the speaker upgrades I already did.

Hey yeah, forgot to update this thread with my latest additions to the Dirty Disco-LITE Destroyer. Here's a vid of the latest additions including tuner dial backlighting & cassette spotlights....

This video really shows off the tuner dial lights & the different modes possible:

I also updated the 'Super-Woofers' with 2.5 OHM BOSE Subs from a Cadillac system & they are quite loud, have lots of bas & do not suffer from the dreaded breathy mid-bass you hear in male vocals from other woofers. @ FLAT(0) on the woofer controls they work very well & can be adjusted to suit anyone's tastes. So far after 2 months they are still pumping strong...

BAM!!!

Cheers, :-D
