Been a while since I tried to photograph as many of my radios as possible and since the last of my new shelving went in today I thought I'd try and capture most of the collection. Radios not present are: Denon H-55, Denon H-70, Aiwa 990 and my lovely as new big Sanyo one piece who's model number escapes me currently.
First off, there's been two wonderful blasters added over the last week courtesy of yahoo.jp. I've finally got a friend buying them for me and shipping them over after a looong time coercing him into doing it and am finally reaping the rewards! First off is this superb Sony CFS-99:
This has been on my must-have list since I first saw Vladi's many moons ago. This box is just so beautiful, the design is incredible. This is the only big Sony one piecer I've lusted after and she delivers on all fronts. The sound is very, very impressive with oodles of deep clean bass and surprisingly bright highs considering their placement over the woofers. This just sounds POWERFUL. The box is very deep and the extra cabinet space gives her some really good throw. Such a lovely, one of the real classics and I'm elated to have one. The deck has a couple of oddities, only the right channel comes through and she needs the drive belt replacing, but I'll get my repairer to sort that out when the above four are done.
The next one is my MONOLITHIC box. Ever since Mono reported his one of these I've been rapturously in love.
I do already have a regular TRK-8600, but this PERDISCO RM variation is just utterly beautiful. This is easily one of the prettiest radios I've ever seen, and up close it's even more so. This is SUPER clean too, it looks like brand new, those japanese dudes really look after their gear. She needs a bit of deck work, for some reason the she just dosen't want to kick over properly, I'm sure It's something small, but I was pretty down over not being able to fix it after restoring my other 8600's deck. Anyway, she's still a work of art, and I thank you Mono for being such a rockin' inspiration! I'll be thinking of you every time I enjoy her, brother!
That's it for the new additions currently, but heres the latest photos of my living room with all the new shelving blastered up!
Thanks for looking!
Rock On.
