Thanks guys. I am finding myself just going up there to relax a bit. Hang out in the lounge chairs and stare at all the work that has been done. It's a feeling I can't describe.

I did a good chunk of the work:
-pulling out knob and tube wiring
-fixing spliced electrical
-insulating
-ran HVAC
-ran all electrical
-breaker box subpanel & breakers
-hardwired smoke alarms with battery backup
-painting
-some framing
-all the trim and the 1/2 wall ledger board
-installed all the doors, jambs, and hardware
-hauled all garbage/materials and carried up 3 rolls of carpet to the 3rd floor

It's been a long road :dunce:

I worked under a Master Electrician for over a year and learned the residential side of the trade. Also had my cousin-in-law, who is a Union Master Electrician, come and inspect all my work before/during/after. He had me change a few minor things but was overly satisfied with my skillz  . He didn't have a problem telling me if I had something wrong because he doesn't "take chances" when it comes to this kind of thing. My families safty relies on the quality of the work done, so I don't screw around taking chances either.

The previous owners of my home were hack jobs, cutting, splicing, over loading, almost every electical circuit in the house. We had MAJOR fire hazards in the electrical system. I managed to get every single knob and tube wiring out of my house. When looking at the electrical panel in the basement you would think that all K&T was replaced with new romex wire and up to code but burried in the walls were some scary things :nonono: .

So to answer you question, I'm pretty sure you should have your license but no one will raise a stink as long as it passes final rough and final inspection.

Just be careful that in very hot summer months that your boomers
and especially cassettes stay somewhat cool!

I would make sure you have a very dependable window unit if
you don't have central A/C! :-O

Love the space and the work you've done! :-)

But it looks great AND you sure added to the value of your house!

The Blasters look very happy there!

Top Notch work

Thanks man - with the ENTIRE remodel of the 2nd floor and the attic, we forked out about $12k in cash over the last 1.5-2 years. Like you said, added TONS of value which was our main goal besides the motivation to actually use all the alloted space in our house. We can handle our house payments but still can't hit a refinance without having about 20% equity in the home. With this all finished up we should be really close to 20% loan-to-value and might be able to hit a 15yr 3.25% refinance  . Just crossing our fingers right now.....
