Hi,brought out my PC-55C and it had been a year or so but upon plugging it in the main green amp power light stays on but the red power button just briefly lights up,does not stay on.
Batteries,same.
I do hear a small scratch sound when red light briefly comes on.
Some scrathiness on volume when moving the sliders but faint.
It's like it's not coming out of timer mode.
It was dusty so I blew out dust.
Worked fine last time I used it.
Looked inside, fuse good,no burns or bad caps.
Bad switch,dirty,not sure.
Any one here experienced anything like this?
Deck is fine.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I know this will sound too ridiculous but can you feel any play with the cable that connects both tuner and cassette deck? Try unplugging it, hit it with some Deoxit and then reconnect.
It may not be the issue but it's the easiest and least invasive step in troubleshooting this

Hi Brutus,I did make sure it was plugged in tight, when I disassembled the combo and deck disconnected, the same. I'll try doing this when I pick up some de-oxit but it seems deck works fine.

Hi Wayne,no I haven't.
Is there a way to test the resistors without removing them?.
These things are packed.
im presuming this is the PS board were looking at.
id like to be able to test and narrow this down.
could it be a bad power switch?
Yes,ill look into this more.
thanks for the tips.
Not serviced the PC-55 , quick look at the PSU board, Have you checked R919 and R932 both
