After selling my M70 Boomzilla to Vintage Man, I decided to an even better version for my own listening & partying pleasure. In tradition with the other Porta-Party(tm) & Disco-mothership(tm) series, I wanted to take a top tier medium size blaster & bling it out to the max. My 2nd edition of the Boomzilla(tm) M70C will include refinements to the original version & have even more intensity in the RGB system. ALL speakers are original & the unit is squeaky clean. All screws had that satisfying tiny crack when unscrewing the mounting screws, etc. Anyway, here is some progress & more to come, later....

The CONION C-100 & some other early grails had these sweet orange/red painted rings around the woofer chrome &/or grills. I always wanted a blaster with that PHAT look & realized the M70 was a perfect candidate for this type of paint mod. You need the right color of red & good execution or it won't work. You can't be sloppy with the paint & It has to POP!!

It's always humbling to get some love form such well established members of the BBy nation when they finally feel you got something right after all the goofy LED mods.. You guys are probably gonna hate me when I drill holes into the front panel for LEDs... I'm almost done so it's too late to talk me out of it. Also, the newest M70 DISCO BOOM-ZILLA will have a total of 48 LEDs :jawdrop:

I've got a special little twist for Teeco1985 from eBay.

I know you're watching this thread.......

That's cool. I actually like the competition between modders if it brings new ideas to the genre. He's got a black M70 on eBay right now but it isn't selling too well. Me, personally, I like the chrome & grey look of the early classics. Not much of a piano black....

Not to mention he sold something to me that wasn't as advertised. He claims he didn't inspect it well enough because he bought it from someone else with the intention of flipping it quickly. Weak excuse.

Well, I'm gonna be blunt but try to remain tactful....

Modding is an art-form in my opinion & shows its true potential in auto detailing & customization, etc. I also mod my PC's to run super fast & super cool.......

As for boomboxes, you can take a tired relic that is unworthy of full restoring & create your own unique restoration. The trick is in the details. You have to have an eye for asthetics & know when to quit.

I think Teeco is trying something different & yes he most likely was inspired by what I started. In fact, I remember him asking me questions about my mods when I first did the Boom-ZILLA DISCO M70 & sold it to Vintage Man....

That's OK. He did an M75 with LEDs & went in a different direction than my past creations & I learned from those eBay photos....I'm almost done my 2nd edition & it's gonna be somewhat more complex in execution than the last mod. It will look very similar to the existing M70 Vintage man has & you will notice a general design theme but slight differences will catch the eye, at least I hope...

Another 1 of my PC mods. This is a micro-gamer with 19" LCD screen attached to the side panel of computer's case. It is fully removable from the cage like any other side panel...

I know there's LED's behind the chrome bar, but are there more LED's behind the speaker cone?
Well, truth be told, it was the simplest of my RGB mods since there are no body lites installed & no there are not LEDs behind the woofers. They are lit from the front only. Notice too the cassette keys & cassette bay are backlit too....no leds are visible & no holes drilled except 1 tiny one for the remote sensor by the right woofer...

Thanx, :-D

I know some guys think the holes are ugly but I think it looks mean, even with the leds off....

If you never see it before, you immediately wonder what the round holes are for & then BAM!!!

I want to thank Teeco1985 from ebay for the inspiration to do my 2nd M70 & really liked his back-lighting skills for his RGB mod.

I decided to do a similar addition to my original design & create lighting for the sliders, cassette keys & band selector. I really felt that the chunky 70's design & gleaming surfaces would lend itself quite well to this effect & give the mod even more depth....It's also a 98% mint M70C(47w) in perfect working order & the speakers are fresh!

I'm excited to see what Teeco's got brewing in the modder's corner...If you ever want to trade ideas, Msg me Teeco.....

Cheers,
