My 1st purchase....Helix

Helix 4635.
It's somewhat rough, and I plan to restore it.
I noticed the following problems..

*Unit has had the back painted black. and maybe parts of the top and front are repaints.
*Top deck plays slow
*bottom deck door will not open
* Power button doesn't seem to power unit off. Could be dirty switch or related to lower tape problem.
*Pretty much every pot needs to be cleaned.
*Tuner ilumination no fully working
*Tuner led not working

One question is there supposed to be illumination behind the goofy purple cover between the leds?

It's not all bad news however, the thing is loud, and mine! I was lucky to find one close to me within an hour driving distance for a decent price. Not too bad considering I just started searching last week.

I'm anxious to order parts and tear it down, but I have a few projects to button up before I tackle this one.
So for now I will just use it as is.

I think that purple cover is the alarm sensor, don't know if it lights up or not. I never actually tested the alarm on the box I had

Its a translucent cover over the alarm motion sensor. No light behind it.

Belts ordered today.
I'll probably replace all of the electrolytic caps as well.
If anyone has a list I'd be interested.
If not I will make one, and put some kits together if nobody else has done so yet.

A kit could be handy......I need to get mine pumping a bit harder and am a bit of an electronic moron so a kit would be a real help
