I have grown fond of the older Akai gear in recent years and the styling on these quads is very nice. I am waiting on the ph call for a 980 a fellow has not let go of yet!

Well, kind of. When I saw all the gear at this location I nearly crapped my pants but tried to not look like I was about to ! I gathered the amp and speakers together and said to the warehouse guy 'how much do you think'. He replied that they have so much kit and so little resource and time to check and test it all that I should just make an offer. So I did and he marched me through to the checkout

Very true indeed. The cool thing about this location though is that all the goodies are sat on warehouse shelves, unpriced and un-tested. The warehouse guys just want to do the tech stuff like testing and don't really care about pricing. I think if I pop in every other week and donate 50-100 bucks to the charity I should be fairly well liked

My contact is there today and even better, it's not a warehouse sale day so I get to rummage around and se what else is going on without even the possibility of anyone sniffing around

Oh yeah and the other cool thing is that at my work, there's a guy who acts as our 'industry expert' to the electrical supply sector. He's a really great guy and better still - he served his apprenticeship back in the day servicing Akai, Sony, Sansui etc audio gear !! He looked at my amp, said he had all the test gear, scopes etc and home and offered to go through it all with me for a bottle of red wine

This is how the amp sits right now, awaiting attention....
