Magnavox D8443 like new!

When this showed up at the door, my wife asked me if I bought a small fridge?

I was tracking it and at the very last min I was away, and she saw it at the main door!

Then she asked me ..... how many of these you want? and then went on and on..... I smiled......
I again said ..this is it..... no more dear...

For some reason I didn't buy the D8443 over the years.
Finally, I bought it last week when I couldn't say no to the looks of this one.

It was that good looking and thought I should have it.

It all came in fantastic shape with the best packaging. I was so curious to see the condition. It was a virgin box.
The tape function had the typical problem with the broken gear. Other than that, I liked it a lot.
It was all working fine on radio with excellent reception.

I will not compare to the high ends category of boomboxes but was very impressed!
It's okay for a 7.20 Watts unit!

Want to buy replacements for those broken gears.

Maybe I got a Gem!

I was wondering if any US sellers got these gears?

Finally, all those gears arrived in mail from this seller.
Thanks to goodman and caution!

Perfect packaging and they look great.

Replaced the other fragile gears also and now deck works like new.
The small spring that activated the auto stop mechanism is a little tricky to put the right way. I have pics of it.

It is easy to remove the white cam gear by using a dental pick tool with a 90-degree bend tip through the hole.
Just pull it upward and the 3 small locking jaws on it will open up, free from the spindle lock and come out easily.

I see that you have successfully replaced the gears.
I have a Phillips D 8304 that is working fine for now and has the same cassette mechanisms.
I also bought 2 sets of these gears so I can replace them when needed.
