OK I can't read Russian but I saw the poster may not be the actual modder.
Also at one point we saw the drain on the power thru the meters.
That gave hint that the lights are feeding of the radio power.
My guess is that there's 4 different led controlers tapping sound right off the speaker terminals.
One before the crossover and the others after right after by the speaker terminals.
That way they correspond to the different parts of sound.
This is the closest I have seen to a radio that is as visually entertaining as the discolight series.
Extremely impressive.
Its debatable whether this would increase or decrease the radio's value,
But if the "disco light radios are an indicator, I would say increase.

Awesome mod, jwalk1. I was thinking of constructing something just like this, using exactly that model boombox. Glad to have one I can pattern mine after!
