Ohhhhh yeah.


The maggy Power Plays sound like crap but look fantastic. Junky cassette decks too, so this eliminates all the bad, I can't wait to see it done!

ok speakers arrived today.. hopefully there not to cheesy.. the skulls can be removed.. they are 3 way 5.25 inch speakers with rubber surrounds and the eyes on the skull light up to the bass.. took a few pics with and without the grill.. and yes I am aware I went a little overboard on the center speaker dustcap glue :-D but with the grill on you really don't notice it at all.. besides with the bass this bad boy will be pumpin better safe then sorry right..

I can't wait to see it finished, playing and the eyes lighting up on the speakers! It's absolutely hard as nails, well done. :drool:

Love that giant chrome dust cover. The skulls are not my style, but they're definitely unique. I like it better without the grille.

haven't hooked it up yet.. will do it this weekend.. the amp on the Maggie is 2 watts per channel and 3.2 watts for the center speaker.. if they don't wow it for me I will add internal amps one mono and one stereo.. doing that would no longer make it portable as the amps require 12 volt 2 amp power supplies.. in other words the skies the limit if it just uses AC power.. so for parties and such there needs to be a plug nearby.. what's your guys opinion on this..

Those skulls are bonkers!...skulls...with eyes...that light up...craaazy! On a normal box it would make me ill but on a crazy mod with lots of LEDs it might just look awesome :)

I reckon you've got to boost the power on this one even if it means its not portable...it's just screaming out to sound as powerful as it looks. Skulls on a weak sounding box will just look a bit lame as it will be all show and no action...but if it pounds then the skulls act as a warning to those brave enough to stand in front of it :)

So I reckon go all out on it! :) :)

lol all out it is then.. didn't take much convincing :-D eh i haven't taken a box outside in ages.. they are always plugged in anyways.. so the flood gates are officially open! :rock:

Even if you did eventually decide to take it outdoors you could always plug it in at an on-street car charging bay. Cheeky I know, but that's what I'd do as there are about three times as many bays as there are Datsun Leaves on the road. :-D

Can you just do a speaker swap on these for improved perfermance? or will this do damage to other componants.

I also have one of these and its a bit of a beater, it would be cool to improve it.

I swapped just the main speakers on one of mine and it made a big difference...just happened to pick up a couple of brand new car speakers from a car boot that fitted and tried it out. Compared my two D8444's side by side and it was a lot better...still no M70 but defo better :)

Awesome skull eyes, I bet the lights look cool. I think the center cap is way too big though, it barely looks like a speaker anymore, lol

yea problem with chrome dustcaps is there are none anywhere.. so had to make due with the smallest one for sale here in the states.. 3-1/8 inch.. it's not to bad.. I think it looks ok.. some chrome is better than no chrome..

I have a powered subwoofer circuit board complete ready to hook up to power, input, and output if you want it for free. Let me know. Check the classifieds, I listed it awhile ago.
