You should install a miniature nuclear power supply so you never have to buy new batteries ! And then of course grow enormous muscles or get a trolley because you'll have to cover it with lead :lol:

No seriously, interesting to see what you're gonna do !

Peace

:-) only time will tell.. it's in the beginning stages.. this time though I will be taking pictures of the progress.. a eyes on journey.. I already have the parts for most of what is going to transpire.. and yes sight and sound are a majority of what is going to happen.. shhhh I have said to much!

btw anyone want the cassette mech.. it works and the main belt has been replaced (gear is fine) will need the tape counter belt though.. let me know..

let the fun begin!

My second box I think. I thought it sounded pretty good. Tiny magnets and the damn rec-play-pause crap drives me nuts for aux input. Fix that stuff, paint it black, give it some blinkies. Its a great box for a complete resto-mod. It should be like the '34 ford roadster of boomboxes.

I'm hoping you are going to put the TDK 3-speaker guts into the Maggy.. :w00t:
That would improve both looks and sound, and also explain why you are tossing the cassette deck mech... :hmmm:

I have the cassette mech and the cassette door.. the door is mint..

here's the reason why it's no longer needed.. and 2 other pics.. :-)

I couldn't wait sooo.. anyways I am replacing the weak ass speakers with new more powerful ones.. they will have the chrome dust caps so the classic look will not change.. a new T-amp will be installed.. but all the controls will stay where they are.... my debate is weather to make this a true portable or a shelf queen.. it's all depending on the amp choice.. plus there will be an sweet LED upgrade but no details on this just yet.. this will take me a few months to complete.. but I will take pics and update along the way.. I do not want to ruin the classy look of this iconic Magnavox.. other than adding the Android tablet the rest of the unit will remain intact.. all connectors will be internal outside of the Android on/off tactile switch.. I am leaning more toward a shelf queen in order to add all the cool things to it.. as the T-amp requires 12 volts.. and the LED's will require there own power supply.. if I go this route, the skies the limit.. you know what? screw it.. shelf queen it will be! :dj-party:

Sounds interesting! My plan is similar with my D8444...got a Bang & Olufsen amp and the LEDs all ready just haven't got round to it! Well in the spirit of cooperation and team work if you work it all out then I'll just pinch your ideas lol ;) :)

Very interested to see how this works out as it definitely needs the power to match its looks :)

I put two way speakers in one of mine and it did improve the sound a lot.

That new bass one makes you realise how big it is and therefore how good this box could be

led mod is well on it's way!!

let me know what you think so far.. the 5.25 speakers were ordered and should be here by the end of the week.. not your typical speakers as you will see!
