Beautiful specimens HR. It would be interesting to see the date stamped on both unit's chassis. If memory serves, I believe mine was June 83 or 82. I'd have to check.

This is a friends box. He had it from new and it was a good box but very faded. He had the speakers done a few years back but the vu meters are on the way to being white as is the red strip in the tuner dial.

......and to add another layer of color onto this subject 
My M90 speakers look dark grayish/purple..lol but I am also looking at them through the black grills. Another thing that fades over the years is that strip towards the bottom of the aluminum tuner scale. I have seen those just about washed out to nothing and/or look brown.

Hmm, I never paid attention to the red strip on the tuner.

I believe it's imprinted on the back of the chassis under the rear vents. Here's a pic of mine
