Well my mom brought it back and I got it from her 2 weeks ago.

Well I decided to bust out the Dremel and the black Sharpie. Gave her a little bath too.

Here she is. My "new" Panny RX-5150.

That looks a lot better Greg. Those plastic 5150 grills aren't great even spanking new. They 'pop' a little now.

Got some more pics. This thing was filthy on the outside but absolutely spotless on the inside. It does live up to the hype. Sounds fantastic.

Do your tweeters produce any sound? I've owned 2 or 3 of those boxes, and the tweeters couldn't be detected at all.

They're just pizeos, so maybe they burned out or something. Or they produce such high frequencies that only a teenager could hear them.

I had no idea the grills weren't separate pieces from the case....they were a pain to remove.

These really do sound great, bro. Maybe the same volume level as a GF8989 but fuller sound. Get you one and cut them grills!

That does look nice. Wow. Is that thing mint? If it is mint I might be willing to trade deck doors with him. My door is pretty mint but the box is not. I see those two scratches there.

Is there a way to "stain" all the yellowed plastic parts dark grey? That would really change the look of this series.
