Another version from this quality brand
Fantastic!! I feel like a celebrity. Thanks d-t! :-D

Of course, we all know that if I really had a boombox named after me it would be called a King Dork and look something like this...

In a (pointless) attempt to find the most obscure boombox name and logo in my collection, I came up with this zinger from the old Soviet Union...

It's from this boombox. It's a... well, I don't know what it is. I do know that the model number is PM-203C (except those are Russian letters, so I guess I don't really know what the model number is, either)...

I do know this gem was part of a limited run. Look at this low (hand-written) serial number...

I also don't know what most of the controls do, 'cuz I can't read any of the labels. Amazingly, I did manage to get the unit turned on (with the help of a 110-220v step-up converter) and got the radio to play. (Forget batteries. The battery holder is for some battery size unknown to Western civilization.) But that's it. Anybody here read Russian? (If so, I've got about three more photos I'd like you to translate!)...

And, yes, Ira, it sounds surprisingly good. (I knew you would want to know.)

but i bet its the most rare box living in detroit !!! :thumbsup: :drool: :cool: :-O

Those eastern boomboxes are quiet rare! :yes:
Must get one any time at a hungarian flea.
But those units were expensive, so not many around. :sadno:

Hi boomarumbaloom,
The Macedonian and Russian letters is very similar, although some letters and words are not pronounced the same, so here is my reading and understanding of the terms used on that Oreanda.
The model number of that box is RM-203S,
"стерео магнитола" = "stereo cassette recorder",
"Ореанда" = "Oreanda"
The hand written number is price in Russian rubles at the time when it was purchased (in that time, the russian rubles is valued by the authorities 1:1 against the U.S. dollar, which means that this box was worth $ 470 :-D )
The second number is " ГОСТ 5651-89" = "GOST 5651-89", which means that the 5651 per line in 1989 year (For this I'm not completely sure).
