Just bumping an older thread to find out how these fixes/repairs are holding up with time?

Is this THE solution, or has anyone devised a new method? :hmmm:

Cheers!

Just performed the repair you layed out in your photos on the function switch- mine isn't as neat as I used a die drinder to open the switch up, but it works again. It boils down to age and folks (wifey) twisting too hard and a gear that that is made of material that is too weak. They are bound to break if you keep applying pressure when it is against it's detents. Thanks for the great photos! :-) :-)
Very awsome! I just did my version tonight. I used my micro dremel with a 3/8 micro diamond disc. :-) then of course my gear was in 3 small pieces. its curing now. i used zap a gap lightly as a tester. meantime to find radio location. with my rubber needlle nose pushed the inner switch to fm. now will be ready. :-O I gotta say I was shaking during the whole gig!

:-O Ohh my Bud I ran into a slight dead end. I fixed my gear.but I can't get it back onto the pin rod. In fact its giving me resistance bad. I'm worried ill break it again. :hmmm: Tried my tweezers and other small tools without damaging anything else. Was I to put the gear on first before not after. HEEELLLP!

I think you should have glued it while in position as another member did
so i guess im kinda screwed huh bud??? :dunce: I didn't see any instructions on that only about a epoxy experiment. also my gear was shattered to 3 fragments. :'-( I had to use a magnilight to zoom in on piecing it just right. So what can I do now?

**UPDATE FROM ORIGINAL POSTER**

Well, the repaired sprocket was working great till someone at a party reefed on it... (and re-broke the right side chrome handle too)

so basically it stood up to a year and a bit of 'normal' use. I was always pretty careful not to turn it too hard. I did a lot of switching between tape and AUX

I'm going to re-do it. In the meantime I discovered a pretty good 2 part putty epoxy that's stood up to hard use in a pressure washer and pipe repair. I think it will give the sprocket some needed hold on the top. will post pics.

and while open I'll try the bluetooth mod
