Thanks for all the feedback guys! It really is a blast to turn a stinkin' nugget into a gem like this.

Frank, I 'd say there is a good 6 or 7 hours into this beast. Funny how it just flies by though!

A rare one with all out style! It's great to see someone rescue a box like this and bring it back to life. I know what you mean about its build quality. The 918 is also a pretty tight box.

Nice work man....this 922 looks so good, brand new. You did a kick ass job. I know how many of these radios I have torn down and done what you have done and even though it only took 5 minutes to read your story, it takes hours and hours to complete the job!

I agree with everything said, the best built Lasonic's are the 918 and 920 and I can only assume the 922 because I have never actually seen one. It is on the list of "MUST HAVE" but these are so freakin' rare. Not only do they never come up for sale, you almost never see anyone post on this site about them.

ALSO, that is one of the sexiest Lasonic's EVER. A Pure Design Success. I wonder why they didn't sell more of them  I wonder if the tweeter in the woofer design turned people off back in the day

Dare I say, you have the cleanest, sweetest, most complete 922 there is....YES, I think you do!

BTW, what size are those speakers? I have a 918 with white speakers and I wonder if they come from that radio? They are smaller than the 920 speakers. The 918's all come with black speakers.

the trc 922 is indeed a well built heavy box with sweet sound .

the speakers are the standard 6.5 inch lucky woofers but the 922 has smaller tweeters than the 920/918/ trc 931/935/975 , i think the lpc series uses the same size tweeters as the 922 and there are like 5 lpc series boxes.

these are awesome boxes !.
