I've counted around seven variations from memory, but I'll be damned if I can find the post I did on all the little variations.

Most were just cosmetic or antenna counts, however.

Mine is looking like the one of the 2nd generation.
But without autoreverse and some labels of the 1st generation.. :hmmm:
Maybe a european model?

I don't know how many there are, but my fav is the 1st generation.. I may have to start saving up for this one!

2nd edition TRC-931's are certainly the most popular of the 3... They improved on the functions of the upper cassette deck and changed the graphics, but other than that, that edition has never appealed to me - probably because of the mirrored LED meters, which I thought looked corny back in the day...

That said, the original models are the best looking, in my opinion, but they're also the hardest to find... Funny that I could win 2 1st edition TRC-931's for far less than those 2nd edition models... You'd think that the version that started the 931 series would always fetch more money if it's in great shape. :dunce:

lasonics should be in everyones collection especially the 931 ,, if you dont have a jvc m90 the 931 will still give the good ole deep bass sound,, i really love the 931 series ,, i have been watching the 935 and i belive the 975 if i am not mistaken those would be the next ones that i would like to have   and speaking of variation on each generation of lasonics 931 if you can get a pic it would be good and share the different things that changed from year to year that would be great

I have both the 2nd gen. 931, (original since new) with only single antenna, and the 975 (original since new) :-D In my opinion the 975 model has the strongest and best bass response

I just bought 2 crappy 931 in an attempt to make 1 decent 931. They haven't arrived yet but I'm pretty sure they are both really rough. I'll probably still need some extra parts if anyone has any. All I'm certain of right now is that I'll need a tuning knob.

Here's mine, not sure what version it is but its still pretty cool. I really haven't seen many like it.
I know sin had a couple that had cosmetic changes also the Mic and audio jacks were located in different spots.

also another note too the lasonics was the handle which the older version had metal chrome sides and the some of the newer ones had plastic sides..... :-)

Master Z's is one of the variations of the 2nd gen model. Different colourway/graphics around the power button and elsewhere.
