"These boomboxes can drive house speakers with ease you just have to Unleash the Power."

You're right Floyd. I had a pair of Polk's I used for my home HI-FI and when I moved I stupidly sold my Marantz 225B receiver but used my 550 and it powered those floor units like nothing. The amps in the 55's is not something to underestimate
A guy I used to work with gave me a pair of the polk tower speaker . each had 2 woofers a dome tweeter and a passive radiator
He showed up for work one day with the wheels ready to fall off the car
. I replaced all the studs that hold the wheels on both sides after be put the lug nuts on backward and the damn holes on the rims were Oval lol I was going to help him for free but when he offered me the speakers and I saw how rich the guy was I took them. Those Polk towers are sweet beyond measure.

pc 55 in, packed like a pro is an understatement haven't fired up the deck yet but i think this is one of the best stereos jvc ever made and certainly the best looking box they made for sure.....I'm not sure if you guys agree but she is better sounding than the m90 imho as is so i think i won't be modding this one,,,,,maybe my other when i find it.....

SOME SAY THIS DOESNT HAVE ANY BASS 90's boxes have much more on the high end but 80s boxes don't get any better than this imho....this box was always the holy grail of mine that i could never afford in 83 lads

lastly a huge shout out to NICK Eckles who has gone way beyond on this one god bless NICK YOU ARE THE BEST THANK YOU BROTHER :beer2: words can not describe what a legend Nick really is with a wicked sense of humour to boot
:thankyou:

I'm not worried about the PC 55 because I have bigger problems in life.
I appreciate the help though my friend the one thing I am after that Nick can help me with is that Sanyo C7 battery holder but I can't even afford to buy it from him.

to be honest Nick doesn't like the 55/ it takes all sorts lol

nick is on stereo2go but i shouldn't need to to tell you that/ this behaviour of not going on stereotogo has gone to far if you ask me lads

I have to be honest. The 90's sound is rich and full of depth and the box has the feeling of being designed around the speakers whereas the 55 seems the designed it around the amp and cassette deck but didn't mate the correct speakers to it. Just my opinion but I love both.

If I had to choose one and walk away from the other...........I'd take the 55 (insert daggers here). Speakers can be replaced fairly easily and that amp gives plenty of room for choice.

ok i tried my mod on the 55 geoff it was indeed better louder more depth and would be a force from the 80's to be reconned with but I'm an original fan and don't like molesterIng something like a 55 which is in good condition from the 1980s and a personal grail so it has been reverted back to original state lol

didn't compare to the 90 sorry about that lad.....speakers used were from a panasonic dt680 from the 90's
