A guy I used to work with gave me a pair of the polk tower speaker . each had 2 woofers a dome tweeter and a passive radiator"These boomboxes can drive house speakers with ease you just have to Unleash the Power."
You're right Floyd. I had a pair of Polk's I used for my home HI-FI and when I moved I stupidly sold my Marantz 225B receiver but used my 550 and it powered those floor units like nothing. The amps in the 55's is not something to underestimate
I'm glad Nick took care of you cuz we all know he takes good care of his boomboxes and I'm also glad that you got something you're happy with.pc 55 been banngin out the tunes all day BRING IT ON
floyd lad you do know you can mix decks on the 55 550 brother....what parts would you need to get a working pc 55I'm glad Nick took care of you cuz we all know he takes good care of his boomboxes and I'm also glad that you got something you're happy with.
I'm not worried about the PC 55 because I have bigger problems in life.floyd lad you do know you can mix decks on the 55 550 brother....what parts would you need to get a working pc 55
been on the blower to Nick for hours lad a true friend son
im not sure he still has it lad as he sold most of his boxes like me a few months ago but i will find out sonI'm not worried about the PC 55 because I have bigger problems in life.
I appreciate the help though my friend the one thing I am after that Nick can help me with is that Sanyo C7 battery holder but I can't even afford to buy it from him.
i hardly use the 90 geoff i can't bare to look at it after that deal went bad brother we are lucky we have both, you must remember the time i had 5 55 and a 550 not sure though.....stop tempting me to mod a 55 it's so bloody tempting especially when i have the speakers here haha............you know my main objection about the m90 its the same colour as doctor who's bloody dog k9 lolI have to be honest. The 90's sound is rich and full of depth and the box has the feeling of being designed around the speakers whereas the 55 seems the designed it around the amp and cassette deck but didn't mate the correct speakers to it. Just my opinion but I love both.
If I had to choose one and walk away from the other...........I'd take the 55 (insert daggers here). Speakers can be replaced fairly easily and that amp gives plenty of room for choice.
checked with nick lad long gone buddyim not sure he still has it lad as he sold most of his boxes like me a few months ago but i will find out son
geoff straight to the point what is better the 55 or the m90 just interested in you're opinion lad
to be honest Nick doesn't like the 55/ it takes all sorts lol
nick is on stereo2go but i shouldn't need to to tell you that/ this behaviour of not going on stereotogo has gone to far if you ask me lads

ok i tried my mod on the 55 geoff it was indeed better louder more depth and would be a force from the 80's to be reconned with but I'm an original fan and don't like molesterIng something like a 55 which is in good condition from the 1980s and a personal grail so it has been reverted back to original state lolI have to be honest.
