Long story short, her husband acquired it from a friends family. The friend pased away and he was given it 8 years ago. I guess he wanted it out of his life.

There are some quality people out there. Last year, I spotted a GF-9292 on Gumtree for $27 local pick up. By the time I got out there, the seller has got huge cash offers - she ignored them as she had promised it to me already. One person even bagged me out to the seller saying I must be a scumbag that rips off little old ladies! :-(

She appeared wealthy though so maybe tye extra few hundred dollars wasn't worth the hassle.

I bet that person wouldn't have said boo if they had got it instead of you, just petty jealousy most likely. I see it lots up here.

I scored a great snowblower a couple of years ago off the same type of person as that lady, they were downsizing and when I asked if the price ($40) needed the decimal point moved to the right, he said "Nope, I am sure it is going to a good home and I don't need it in a condo"

Handed him the cash and stuffed 'er in the hatch, lol as another fella was offering him $200 and he even got mad at the seller.

Seller did not know the model she had because the rear badge is missing...LoL

Cassette deck doesnt work, but motor is running and when I push play I hear a faint click like it wants to spin.

Here, when something very spectacular is for sale and when price is ridiculous, it´s taken right away or someone even dares to negotiate about the price and if it´s bit more expensive then seller will be getting a lot of lowball offers, many sellers who are hunting top dollar put in ad "make your offer", but this kind of advert might be good too, depends. Anyways, your deal was a steal ! :w00t: :lol: :thumbsup:
