My question is on the paint. Did you use a rubber based paint to maintain the texture of the original surface? :-)

Very nice! I've been playing around with something like this, but I'm looking to mount the tweeters in the woofer grills. This is much better!

Sweeeet! I love it!

Top work! A vid always gives a better idea of what it's like...it looks very professionally done and sounds great. Looking forward to seeing the LEDs...then it really will be amazing! Nice :) :)

JVCs that had LEDs back in the day, such as the PC11, 656 and that tiny one I have around somewhere seemed to come with red LEDs rather than the red to yellow arrangement found on some makers' stuff so you could stick to red for that reason, or, seeing as it's your toy and your way, you could have seven on each channel; one of each colour. The potential disadvantage of using the entire visible spectrum is that it would look like it was related to a Discolite. :-)

red it is then.. kinda makes sense with the color scheme i'm already using.. they are going to be above (around) the front woofers.. 7 on each side.. will be using sound (mic) instead of direct input for the sound level..

Might want to have a lookout for that player on your favourite online buying sites...
