Nice. Haven't bagged a car yet, but had plenty of low-riding VW's in my day...

Damn... Do you have bags on that impala?

Nothin on it yet, still have the interior to finish up..hard to work on it when I drive it everyday.. :-/
I always run hydraulics in my rides, had to do a photo-slam to see how it'd look!

I did, Bill.. Got a NIB set from a guy in Northern Minnesota who bought them in the 80's and never took em out of the box!
They were made for 75-77' Grand Prix, Monte Carlo, & other A-body cars, but the frames and glass have generally the same curvature as Impala/Caprice.. Putting them in wasn't the biggest fabrication task, I also had to cut out a good portion of both 1/4 panels and weld in new sheetmetal because the old vinyl top had rotted away the skin around the side windows..RUSTY!

You could get the Hurst or American T-tops as a rare aftermarket accessory back in the day, here's an old scan from Lowrider Magazine im guessing around 1977-1980

Great job  I know my brother had a 83 TA and he bought a whole T-Top roof from a junk yard and had a body shop cut his roof off and weld the t-top roof to his then paint it. It looked GM factory installed :-)

Back in 1979, My Jr. High School Janitor in Pomona,Caifornia had a fully Customized 76 Caprice Classic with an awesome paint job  He'd park it on the school grounds and hit the swtches, then lay it on the ground. No one messed with it cause We all adored it. I never forgot that car's impact on Us school kids. The paint job was in the traditional Old school layered/overlaping pattern. Very labor intensive. A true talent to do that pattern. Here are borrowed pics of what his paint job was like. the 4th pic down is almost exactly the same color/pattern too.

Yeah FUZZ! All those cars except the 1st pic are owned by members of the other forum I frequent.. That 4th pic you mentioned, that car was painted by Leal Bros. out of Corpus Cristi, TX I love their style! I had more pics of it, before it was even put back together, but I must've deleted them.. That last one was painted by The Kandyman out of Texas as well..
I would like to take my Impala to the next level, but my 47' Chevy is the car that gets all my love.. Doin it from the ground up!
I need to stop buying boxes, and instead start buying floorpans for it.. get this project moving!!
