Just bought my first boombox: the Universum Supersound 16000

Nice start! This model always reminds me of the big Sharps. Is on my must-have-list, too.

Very nice first box. I have the Telefunken CR-8200 which is exactly the same except for being 120V. The bass is nice and hits low. The "wide" setting is nicely done (many other boxes sound artificial or warped). From some angles it's a boring-looking box, but from other angles the chrome trim around the woofers shows up and looks sweet. I took it apart and removed the speakers so I could polish the chrome and the center caps. The tape keys look sweet as well. And I also like how you can press the Record key alone (it doesn't force you to press Play as well). That way you can make the meters dance to the radio.
