Ira,
I did a comparison :judge: and this is what I found
The Conion isnt even in the same league as the Panasonic. (Sorry). :sadno:
Panasonic had over all better sound quality
It has much deeper bass & crispier highs.
It holds together very well at high volume with the bass at about three quarters (with house music)
The Conion gets louder faster than the Pana but also distorts faster even with the bass at half level with loudness off.
Tuner and tape sections on Pana are also of way better quality .
I would be willing to say It sounds more like a JVC.
Your 5350 must have been broken or something bro
I love Both the M-90 and 5350 :smooch: and they are both top notch 1 piece's no matter which way you slice it. :hooray:

Beautiful radio, Frank. Great to see her in such good company.

Even better to know how these sound, as they were always an unknown quantity to me, sound wise.

Best of luck getting her 100%!

Rock On.

ok frank --thanks for the test and the careful report --

i had thought the conion and the 5350 were much closer in sound --
as they a both such LOUD, powerhouse GHETTOBLASTERS- :-D :-D
:w00t:

and most will agree with you that the conion gets loud FAST
and then distorts ----right after that !!!

my memory of the one year --that i had a GOOD :-) 5350
was that it was much smoother --than the conion =
just as much power --
but it also distorted on bass --
before i was was ready !!

getting philosophical-- :hmmm:

i guess ALL one piece boxes distort before we want them to......
am i right ????? :'-( :-O

floyd

Boomus Fidelis
the rx 5350 is a very rigid box so the bass can really pound out of these plus it has a high quality speaker system with large magnets on both the woofers and the tweeters ,and it is a very huge beast and looks killer it has to be one of the most bad ass boxes around.

the conion on the other hand i love it but if you push the volume too far it sounds horrid ,sounds great up to a point but then becomes painful to hear and the worse part of it is the l.e.d's peak out too soon so even that bad ass part has its limits altho the conion is a thing of beauty and the looks instill fear and awe.

Its all a matter of knowing the boxes limits and adjusting them properly to accommodate the situation.
"all" of them distort if we push them to the limits. :-)
Floyd The magnets on the Panasonic look huge from behind the vents I cant wait to get in there to get a better look. :hmmm:
Glue
I have always been curious about the 5350 until I got to check out Primes at the meet. I then knew I wanted one.
Thats what is great about the meets you get to check out all the boxes you always wanted to hear / handle. :afro:
