Your friend did a nice job on the needle LEDs, I did that to mine too and it wasn't easy. There is only a sliver of space to get LEDs properly located above them.
Yeah, he's a pretty smart fellow. I was meaning to ask you about the treatment you did to the back of your box to clear up the yellowing. Does that harm the identification sticker on the back? Seems like that would mess it up. Looked like a pretty simple process. Is that fair or is there a trick to it? I'm going to have the back of mine off and was thinking of seeing if I could restore the color. Mine is pretty green.
No, it doesn't hurt the badge on the back, but I put tape over it just to be on the safe side. The concoction you slather on there is not a solvent, it's water-based, so nothing to fear. It's important to apply it evenly and apply light evenly, otherwise the areas with more will start to bleach the plastic, which is not reversible.
