I have both models with the 2nd edition being my original from new. I say my 2nd edition sounds way better but I also believe my 1st edition may need new caps or something because of the low quality soundJVC Floyd said:redbenjoe said:

soon i will compare the first model to the i931 and see which sounds better ,my second edition is bascally a non working hunk of shiat
so i have only the i931 to compare it too ,hell it's been over 20 years since i even heard a trc 931 but i don't remember much if any of a difference in sound , i do remember buying a brand new crown sz 5100 between lasonics , i returned the sz 5100 and got the second edition trc 931 which totally kicked the sz 5100's ass .
