Sean...how one uses their money is their business. There are members here who have far, far, far more boxes than 100...and rent storage space even.

Let's not be discouraging to those who may collect a great deal. It's their (our) passion and if they can suport it and have 10,000 I say go for it.

Great article, and good job for not saying how much they are worth!! Sean this is a boombox enthusiast site, not a "judge us for our hobby" site...We love these radios and many of us have done crazy things to get our collection. I also have over 100 and have spent a crazy amount of money and have done without many things to get them. That said I have exhibited them internationally, and had a ball meeting folk from all over the world sharing our passion. We get enough judgment from our friends and family, not here please--be cool

ive been trying to find a good one i can use daily (not store on a shelf and stare ) but i cant. and then theres people here who have 100's they dont even use

I will admit to feeling this way very early on but It was just out of my desire to get some nice boxes quickly and some jealousy, I think many of us feel somewhat like this when we are getting started. Once you get rolling and the collection starts to build it will go away and you'll appreciate everybodies collection big or small.

I think I've just about given up trying to keep the collection numbers down, I've found it painfully difficult.
Just find more storage or rent some if need be.

Seriously, i remember back in the day when our local hifi shops looked just like that....wall to wall racks of boomboxes along 1 wall, and home hi-fi along the other wall......days LONG gone huh?
