Like I have stated many times before the future is bright for bumpboxx . There is still a lot more to come. Brace yourselves is going to be a long ride but it will be well worth it.

Chris, just remember..you can't please everyone!
Some love lights/some do not..
Some love a long handle the length of the box/some love a short handle..
Some love a simple plain design/some love plenty of bling!
I always resort to my old standby quote when encountering picky people..
"You're gettin what your gettin, and you're gonna like it!"

Growing up poor made me thankful for anything and everything.. I have no expectations for this project, only to see you guys succeed! :hooray: Do your thing, and remember..NO PRESSURE!!
Oh yeah, NO PRESSURE!

I know what you mean man, I know I can't make everyone happy. But I think we can still do a good job

Can't wait to see what is stewing in your brain!
Thanks Joe, so much of what's in my brain is a collective of this site and everyone's ideas. So if it sucks, is everyone's fault

I'm joking of course.

I agree with you 100% Dave and I look forward to working with you in China when we both go in October.

Let's just hope Chris has more luck as a designer than Homer Simpson had with the Homermobile:

Just kidding! :-)
Keep going Chris.
ha ha ha ha ha!

If we really want this new Chris box to be a real 'tip of the hat' to the classic vintage blasters, wouldn't it be awesome if it could operate on the original battery chemistry and the original big box voltages?!

I can guarantee a quality class D amp running high efficiency 8 inch drivers (96dB) and tweeters (106dB) being powered by 10Ds (15 volts) would crank harder than many realize. (Many times more powerful sounding than a healthy M90 for example)!!

A rear panel with a large, Sanyo M9998 style battery cover, could allow access to a removable 10 D cell battery pack. As class D amps are far more efficient that AB amps, you could expect much longer run times on 10Ds than we are used to with high powered old school blasters.

You'd open the rear battery compartment and load/unload D cells just like a vintage box. The only visual difference would be two discrete retaining clips that, when released, would allow the D cell battery tray to be removed and replaced by an included lithium battery pack of the same size if rechargeable operational was required!!

As Chris mentioned that sound quality is key on this new box, a sweet sounding 12-15v amp would be just perfect. This could allow more of the budget to go to better quality, high dB speakers etc. :-)

James..... :-)
