Hah close Joe! The Goonies coast scenes were filmed at Cannon Beach. I was about 40 miles south of that, in Oceanside.

You are on the West coast. "North" west coast at that. What'd you expect? :w00t:   Go to where Ira is and you can get warm beach days almost every day of the year. Even when the hurricanes are whipping you around, it's probably STILL warm!

I know, right? When I first visited the Oregon coast, I fell forward and stayed standing up :fly-kite:
You think like I do Norm, I've been to SW Florida twice this year already

I didn't know the Mad Scientist ever left the lab with all that crazy work he does!!

Nice pics, bro. I need to do the same thing. I'm right by the beach too!! Lake Michigan has one hell of a coastline over here.

WOW MAN fantastic pictures

.....oh the memories of that box at the beach in 1983....

In the summer of '83, I was thirteen years old and skinny as a rail. During the summer my mom would throw us out of the house at 8am. Living in the San Fernando Valley just north of Los Angeles, I would dawn my OP shorts, my puka shell necklace, put my comb in my back pocket, grab my 920, skateboard, beach towel and load my pockets with cassettes. No shoes, no shirt and maybe a dollar or two to get me through the day.

My mothers only instructions....be home for dinner at 6pm.

I would skate a mile or so to the bus stop on Sherman Way Ave, meet some friends and with my month long bus pass grab the bus down to Sepulveda Blvd, transfer at Wilshire Blvd and then straight to the Santa Monica pier, which is the end of Route 66!

My friends and I would spend the day at the beach, chillin' on the sand, walking the pier, skating down to Venice, working on our tan's and the ladies!

If we weren't at the beach then we were hopin' fences looking for swimming pools we could take a dip in under the hot LA sun.

My mom had know idea where I was. I could be one block over, or 60 miles away at the beach. No cell phone, no over doses, no pregnancies, no worries. Things definitely were different just a mere 35 years ago.

Yep....I love this box man....thanks for the flash back :stereo:

Wow, I was actually in Cannon Beach at the same time you were there. I recently rediscovered that this was a site of some of the Goonies filming (used to know everything about the movie). Even went to that little film museum in Astoria. Nice 920 box, by the way. How do 920s sound in terms of smooth bass?
