Are you sure you have the correct size belt for that model. I just serviced the deck in my Hitachi 3D7 (same deck). I had the same issue that was fixed by replacing the main belt. The old belt looked ok but it had stretched. Try a slightly smaller belt and see if that resolves the issue. A loose belt in this deck will also result in a weak FFWD.

Meanwhile i also acquired a 3D7, deck does look kinda same, i agree, but the problem is with that small O-ring that i can´t take out or replace and pinch roller also drives tape to the right so it destroys tapes. As i don´t have means to take pinch roller nor o-ring out, i let it be like it used to be and use it as a radio. Or can i do with those 2 without replacing them ?
