Hey all,

Yeah, I know... Who the hell is Bredgeo?

Well we used to be a lot on the other site posting and having a god damn good time, but little by little people (older members) started to leave -stop posting--- I, myself, hardly post anymore (over there ---or here)... I just pop in when I have something to do, give, offer, or wanna see if there is anything worth reading and responding to.

This said, between members... who posts on both Boomboxery and Stereo2Go? And those who do post on both, who will go/post/use one more than the other?

Me, myself and I... we are, at heart, with the old mistress... Stereo2Go... and come here to Boomboxery now and then.

So, who is the same as me or the opposite, and why?

Later.

You should blame/thank Panasonic Fan for the split. If it weren't for him banning Fatdog and Redbenjoe and overreaching his authority to try to muzzle anybody who expressed displeasure with him or his buddies, we'd probably all still be at stereo2go having a good ol' time. But all that said, I'm VERY glad that things turned out the way they turned out.

:agree: with Mono, when PF was protecting his extreme A-Hole friends and trying to muzzle the good guys he started the movement that split off in to Boomboxery. Ultimately I think it was a good thing that was needed but if it hadn't happened we would still be on S2G.
I've been on Boomboxery about 99 posts to 1 over S2G and don't regret it at all.

Heck, even I still hang out at S2G from time to time. :-D However, I do hate that a lot of old posts simply no longer exists. A lot of great knowledge has been lost. :-/ :'-(

Why do you think that is? Lost info because of forum crashes or intentional trashing?

I post on both as well but the majority of my posts and time are on Boomboxery. Better site, better atmosphere, better people...and no haters!!... :-D ..that being said I think both sites have something to offer, Boomboxery just offers more.

I am ignorant to any drama that may have happened,
I just went where my friends that I started collecting with went.
I post once and a while at S2go but it seems to move slower than the Boomoxery. I don't know why.

Cheers OSS :afro:

I go over every now and then and offer technical help when I can. I was turned off by the amount of pettiness shown by one particular moderator previously mentioned, and when asked to offer my opinion in some matters, no matter how fairly I split it, the mods could not seem to come to a conclusion regardless of evidence.

Not only that, when Bill (I'll call him by his name.) said I was greedy for wanting the Black CP-7, that did it for me. :annoyed: I've noted elsewhere the whys about the reasons Boomboxery is so successful.

Thanks, Mono, for informing us relative newbies about how the split happened. The irony about this situation is that I personally have never seen a post by Panasonic Fan since I've been a member of S2G.

S2G is O.K. but because a lot of the older heads are here and there is a lot of dormant users on S2G they are in the process of rebuilding the sense of community that exists here.

I've only been on there a year and the change in the past two months has been stark. Indeed, there is post about how things have died a death.

There now seems to bit of a geographical split too. Most of the U.K.ers post on S2G, with the U.S. and mainland Europe preferring BBoxery.

Wierd Eh? Either way, I do post on both and don't let the split concern me because it predates my interest in boomboxes.

:agree: does seem to be a bit of a split like that. possibly just due to trading and buying and shipping issues.
I do visit st2go a couple times a week but notice not much is happening, a bit of banter, but not much in the way of technical talk, cool boxes surfacing, restorations and not much for sale or trade unless your UK. Bummer it all can't be one place where we all play nice, but have to say boomboxery simply blows st2go out in all respects.

I don't wanna take sides, because the whole split happened before my time here, but for me it's BBery 50, s2g 2 :-) Why? Mainly because I don't get the same warm sense of community over there. In fairness, it may be because I just don't know them as well

That's great, man! You've gotta make your own mind as to which site is better. Regardless, it's not really a Boomboxery vs. stereo2go thing 'cause there's room enough for both sites.

As for Pan Fan, he did the right thing and stepped down as moderator shortly after Boomboxery was established a year ago. He might've also deleted any posts related to the drama that happened over there, so you might not find much of anything even if you searched back a year and a half on that site.

That geographical split thing - I only recently noticed that. There's a lot of U.K. posters - both new and old - picking up the slack. :hmmm: Hopefully, they can help turn things around.

bredgeo,

The good old days at S2G were the members in those earlier days and the early growth of the online selling and availability of so many different boomboxes.
It was great and fairly cheap to use early eBay and have S2G and Jens. He always amazed with pictures before he releases the database.
You know its not the same and I know you know as I know PF is an anus of huge proportion.
I was very sad to see S2G go the way of that wonderful section in the BBX Museum Title'd:

"The Decline and Fall"

well it did.
