help with valuation please?

is there anyone who could help? I have a Vintage Vela Disco DK990 (R) Boombox in good working order - lights etc.. and a client has asked to rent it for an event. How much should I hire it for (just one day) and more important, how much should I insure it for? I have no idea of what it's worth. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

sandy --depending on the exact cosmetic and operating conditions -
those are worth from 100 to over 1000---

but --suggest you dont rent it -- :nonono:
as they have weak handles and they are not very durable

i agree dont rent it
if you have to $500 a night and insure for $2000 as if it breaks you wont get other one to replace it anytime soon
1.$100 fror a retro product
2.$200 for a lighting system
2.$200 for a sound system
and if they dont like it well send it to Perth and we will give you 500 if its any good
just tell them sorry but thats the price

I think Sandy owns it and someone wants to rent it from Him / Her.

I agree with the idea of not renting it, unless you are there to watch closely over it. These are VERY rare and can be worth a lot of money. All it takes is one careless moment and the party is over and your radio is broken forever and you have very little recourse with out a contract explaining precisely what it cost's and it's value, which is very hard to do.

Me, I'd just walk away with it but hold it from the bottom, I hear they have weak handles! :lol: :-D

I see. Initially I thought Sandy wanted to rent one, not have one to rent.
