It's probably my favourite as well - but I don't think it's the one with the best sound!

Welcome! Loving that early JVC. There was some serious design skill involved in the making of that machine.

The JVC's have always been high on my list. I loved them back then and would love to come across a few these days...

So which of your boxes do you think has the best sound?

I was kind of thinking about that after I posted. I'd almost have to spend an afternoon listening to really make an honest opinion. But (from a sound *quality* standpoint) - I'd probably be leaning towards the three box Panasonic! The RX-CT980 blows me away every time I use it. It really sounds nice.

It may not be the loudest - but that's not really my thing! It really punches above its weight class, IMO.

I'll need to find some time to clean/tune up the GF-777 before really listening to it - so I likely can't really judge it to well yet. Maybe in July!
