Hail iPod Boomboxes -Lasonic, AL and TDK

Just finished my trio of iPod boomers.

My work is done

Altec Lansing, Lasonic, TDK (HEAVY) 3 Speaker.

Just need time to use them all.

Don't let the diminutive size of the Altec Lansing fool you. It will kick your ass and make you ask, "What the **** just happened?"

Nice collection indeed - I bet that TDK sounds just as good as it looks.

It does sound great. But the AL and the Lasonic are far less fussy to use. The TDK really suffers from lack of arials, and its very fussy as to the ipod or iphone you use. Oh and no remote control.

There beautiful Maybe I should wait for the next generation TDK (hope so) to see if it has been "De -Fussyfied" and better reception. Congrats Wow

Yep. I would say the TDK is a flawed genius, but

It is the most stunning system I have ever seen.

Hoping the a new firmware update will make it more iPod friendly.

Playback from USB stick is exceptional however.

Send it to Norm. He can fix/upgrade anything. I'll bet he can make it a Disco TDK too That would be great. I Think I'll ask Norm to turn my Helix into a 'DISCO WHEELY 5000'

Minor comparisons for you.

The TDK is clear all the way to the top (and its volume does go to 11 which is a nice touch.
The AL does the same and has more base than the TDK, but is not as refined at the top end.
The Lasonic feels and sounds the cheaper of the boxes, but is BY FAR the most versatile. It plays anything.

Im lucky I can afford all of them, but the AL just pips the TDK for overall sound quality....


Saying that, the TDK rules in looks, just lovely.
