I was curious about this radio. Anyone have one that can shed some light on? I see Amazon has discontinued it. Wondering if this will be out of production.

Had one. Gave it away. Like the fact that it was a good effort at looking like a vintage box and it had good features. The reality was a little underwhelming to be honest. It’s good enough to please an 11 year old who knows no better (he loves it!) but I didn’t like it

I did a video review of it, see YouTube.

Short version, it looks good and it you want a versatile kitchen radio then it's great but it lacks the power and volume of say an M70 and it can feelna bit cheap around the knobs.

Thanks T. I did see the review. (Thank you for the detailed report!) I posted prematurely and then found a bunch of info on it from this site. Either way, i was still curious if people would bother to buy it as a collector item. Like anything else, once these are discontinued, I guess thats it...

Yeah they sent me one for review and requested it back pretty promptly. I do plan on picking one up at some point.

I would have preferred the speaker chrome surrounds be a little smaller and the knobs be more sharp edged rather than all round.

If I got one I would have to put chrome caps on the woofers. Silly that the tweeters have them but the woofers don't.

I agree Reli. I am seriously considering getting one for giggles. If I do, the speakers would definitely get some kind of treatments. Wish it were easy to find chrome dust caps.

You can harvest them from junkers and parts boxes. SLO did that with his DJ Tech Boombox.

Found one online on Grooves-inc.com for $236 delivered. I'm a little concerned the website is from Germany. Not a US seller. I think for that price it would bring the 11 year old outta me however my gut says it will never show up and I'll be battling my credit card company for reimbursement...

Hey Transistorized- how well did it crank on CD?
Compared to all of its other input sources, it performs best and louder during CD playback. I would say the volume difference is about 10% louder on CD from its other sources with the next competition being the BT depending on phone and file settings. Sound quality IMO is lacking in the bottom end range. It does not produce warm bass however, it will thump when pushed to it's max volume levels. Highs are nice and crisp.

On a side note: Not sure if they corrected the issue but some CD's when played, if recorded "hot" have a tendency to clip a little in this machine as though the input gain control from the CD mechanism to amp input is turned up fairly high internally. Something I found odd for a boombox was that they specified in the manual to avoid moving the box during CD playback as possible disc damage may/could occur.

Despite its quirks, the price point is on par for what you get and it truly is the only modern box (as of now) that duplicates that old school vibe.
