Every single one of my radios have been apart except the ION Retro Glow. I seem to always find a reason to open them up. All of my radios were rescues. It kept the cost down. If it's a mechanical issue, I can usually resolve. If it's a complex circuit issue, that is my weakness and I tend to steer away from boxes requiring board component replacementsYes, I completely agree with you.
As of today, everything is working fine.
I serviced some boomboxes a few years ago and I'm sure they'll work for at least another 5-6 years.
But there are some bomboxes that I haven't serviced since I bought them and they're working fine for now.
I don't know how soon I'll have to pay attention to them...
