Just picked this up on Yahoo.

Looks like a re-badged Sharp GF-909 but is marked Toyota - Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd EA900.
Aisin did make alot of auto components (still do) so I'm guessing this was some kind of cross promotional item.
Bit of grill art too....

Threre's some pretty fierce bidding on basically "junk" boxes.

Trust me. That is not a "junk" box. You just got yourself one of the holiest of all boombox grails. :w00t: I've only seen one other Toyota badged GF-909 - ever.

Congratulations!!

Nah, this box aint junk.
The others on Yahoo badged 909, 919,999 & 1000 are getting good $$$ for stuff with torn speakers, major faults etc.
This will need some deck re-furb and general switch and exterior clean and it will be tip-top.
Man, I know where there are 100's (1000's?) of boomers in Japan. Will be going back later this year so will take HEAPs of pics and more than a few may follow me home.

If you're not Japanese you would no chance as they don't even take O/S credit cards ans even a native speaker took ages to read through all the cr@p conditions etc. :-/
Luckily, SWMBO is Japanese. :-P :-P :-P

Woooow. This one is amazing. Really love it. Looks a lot better and funky. And in some way brutal. Dude thats one of the best boxes ive ever seen    . Actually my idea for the best box in the world will be that one + added led meters. Congrats.

That box is not junk! But ...................it could be recycled and lucky for you my town has one of the greatest recycling programs available! If you just send it my way I'll be glad to take care of it for you! At no charge of course!

Earth Day is coming! Recycle your boomboxes with me!

Well done, sparkbrook! Had my eye on that one, but another more derirable one for my collection popped up last week that tapped out my finances.

I've had a mate over there the last year who's been doing all the work for me and I've maanged to nab about 12 supergrails off there thus far.

You soon forget about the shipping costs, 99% of the sale prices are a 1/4 or less than what the box would sell for anywhere else on the planet, so even with $150-200 shipping you're getting a radio for half of what you'd have to pay locally. And in a lot of cases (especially with us australians) the radios weren't even released domestically here anyway.

There has been a LOT more action on yahoo over the last 6 months or so and the super cheap grails aren't nearly as frequent. I remember the week before I got my mate all sorted out that I saw a mint GOLD M-70 go for $20. That just doesn't happen these days.

Best of luck with this hot Toyota variation Sparkbrook! And welcome to the site!

Rock On.

Well, you got one heck of a nice rare radio there,

Can you tell us what, if any differences there are with this radio other then the name? Any added / deleted features?

Glue,
Yeah looks like some hot trading going on that for sure.
I'll hit the back streets of Denki town later this year. Less competition that way.
Also the 2nd hand shops that get shunned by your average Japanese should hold a few bargains.
Just happy to have my BIG Toyota!
