Found this JVCfor sale.

I found this lady who is selling her husbands JVC RC717 for $25. Who knows anything about it? I think it's from 1977. Here is a couple of internet pics I found. If it's of any interest to anyone here, I can try and get it for you.

I'll call them tonight to see if they still have those dual rotating microphones it is pictured with. Kinda like those Sanyos that had mountable mics.

Judging from the position of the knob and switches on top, it looks like you have an a.k.a. box.

what is actually meant by an AKA box? Is it purely a copy of another box rebranded (with maybe a few tweeks)? Does that mean that one of the AKA's is the original as such and if so how do you know which one it is?

think that makes sense...

The main box - in your case - is the JVC/Victor 'cause it's the most prominent box, while the Ferguson you have is not a box that's known in most parts of the world. That said, the most popular version of a box is the main box, while all others are a.k.a.'s.
