I have been advertising for {boomboxes wanted} in my 'greater' local area
for about 4 years now, or more.

I put up adds on sale boards and the occasional add in the paper just to see.

I have picked up some very cool boxes by advertising but last weekend it finally happened :-D

I had driven 2 hours up to the city and had spent the whole day shopping and
checking out a few places for boomboxes, as you do, and by the end of the day
when i was just about to head home i got a phone call.

The guy tells me he has a big silver Sharp i may be interested in !
He said he had bought it around 25 years ago and it has sat in his
garage for about 24 and a half years !!
Definately im interested! I asked him what the model number is, telling him it was most
likely to be a GF something.
He wasnt sure so he said he would go and have a look and ring me back.

So as i waited i was thinking. Could it be a 9191 or 9292 ? to most this is considered
a big boombox, and rightly so ! Or dare i hope for a 9494 or even a 9696 !! That would be cool.

He rings me back,

Its a GF 777 he said :-O I just tried it out, it all seems to work

I couldnt believe my luck, not only getting the call but actually being only 10min away
from his house when i actually live about 2 hours away.

I went straight around and did the deal.
I havent cleaned it up yet, im leaving that for the Easter holidays when i can
relax and do it :-)
I wanted to show you guys the dust that proves it has sat for sometime
but also let me assure you underneath the dust it is MINT MINT MINT !

I also want everyone to know that it took a lot of advertising, a lot
of phone calls, a lot of asking everyone you see  and about
4 years for this to happen. So when you think it may never happen, dont
give up people, it may surprise you when you least expect it !

Well played AZA!!
Great score indeed, very, very difficult to find any 777's down here without the pitting on the metal.. another part our climate likes to play havoc with.

Hope she serves you well!

Rock On.

Moments like these is when you need a friend along for the ride with a video camera to document the whole thing.

What a fantastic score, Aaron! Keep the fire burning.
