The yellow just seemed to be a really faded red to me. Plus, from a distance, the pale yellow looked like the rest of the white markings. :-/ If the yellow VUs are indeed original, I can return them to yellow even though the Sharpie is labeled as "permanent." The wife has a secret liquid from the Philippines that makes Sharpie ink disappear.

Ira, it was done freehand. I do have one little slip-up on one of the "5"s, but you have to look really close to see it.

Bobby -- I assure you that the yellow is original. I had 2 Reds and 2 Yellows and the Yellows both look identical. I forget but there were other subtle differences between the two colors that convinced me that the yellows were not faded. Personally, I like the yellow because it's different. Red on VU meters seem so common. However, orange ones were probably faded reds.

Congratulations Bobby!
Never been a more deserving owner of the mighty M90!

Enjoy her with love and pride for many years, brother.

Rock On.

Thanks, guys! I've listened to M90s at the Sunshine Mixes and they had incredible sound, but until you have one and can put it through its paces with your own music collection, you can't fully appreciate the power and sound the M90 produces.

Don't worry, Norm. I can take it back to yellow if need be. It's just that I'm a bigger fan of the red. ;-)

Awesome bobby, that M90 doesn't look anything like a junker. :nonono: Norm is turning out to be a god among boombox immortals.
You've waited patiently for a long time and now you have several well deserved top boxes (M90, 100F, PC-55). What other heavy hitters are in your collection?

Unfortunately, I don't have any "before" pictures. It had some grime in the corners and the back vents were really dirty. It has scratches and other marks that don't show up well in the pictures. By Ira's standards, it's minty mint.  I'd give it a solid 7 out of 10.
