I went to the local flea after picking up my pay check history from work (for tax purposes  ) It was my only day off this week and I was on my way home. I whipped in with my bangin Monte Z34. Then walked around and was feeling hopeless :( Then before I went to my Car I saw this BIG hitachi in the rafters!Even has the original remote! I was praying it had a price and was for sale. I reached up (6' 1") and expected it to be $40 or so considering the usual rate of a local box this size. To my amazement I saw $9.99!!!!! I took it with joy and had several kids asking what it was and their parents (Of Generation X) said that's what they would listen to in college, or outside during games.

I also found a set of speakers from an unknown boombox. ALSO found 2 Cardboard boxes filled with NOS older Panasonic 3 piece speakers (all were from the same model and there were 6? in each box  )

Here are some pics of this monster! It's like a 931 laying on its back :w00t:

You got a very nice Hitachi 3D there. Member Isolator is the Hitachi 3D expert if I remember correctly. But from memory, you will absolutely love the sound of that beast. :-)

Congrats chris these are oftern in the uk and unlike most hitatchi 3d's (sound is mediocre) but this one shows some promise. Give us a rundown on the sound when you plug her in. :-)

This one is the CX-W700. I sold my non-CD version of this box, the TRK-3D95 to a member of this site. It had a very good bass output, as do practically all Hitachi 3Ds.

I put some batteries in today! My verdict...AWESOME! Bassy enought to let you get into the music but not so bassy as to overshadow the treble  It has very crisp highs! Great Box for $9.99 Tapes work but I need to check the CD player! :-D Very happy with my new hitachi! :smooch:

I found a use for the little speakers, I plugged them into a headphone splitter and now have Quad speakers for my Ipod!

Five years late, but here I am!

This is a CX-W750 - the '50' suffix denoting the inclusion of a digital tuner (the CX-W700 has an analog tuner).
These ASW (acoustic super woofer) 3Ds were the final evolution of the Hitachi 3Ds, finally giving a properly good sound, in the same ballpark as JVCs Hyper Bass boomers (they share the same speaker technology).
The CX-W750 was the absolute top of the line - digital tuner, CD player, twin decks, remote, the lot.

TRC-911, if you still own this boomer & feel like selling, I'm interested!
I have a CX-W700, but do not own the 750 - the very top model :)
